If you want to send in a message to the Message Tree, or a comment to one of the Writer’s Blogs, you must keep to the rules as shown below. This is for your own online safety and to make sure the website is a great place to visit.
We read every message before it is published. We will put the latest messages live several times a day, so do keep checking to see if your message has been published.

Surnames, school names, place names, addresses, and telephone numbers are NOT allowed on in the messages. Any information that could identify you will be rejected for your own safety. However you CAN tell people your first name, age, and the name of a big town or county. For example "Jodie from Edinburgh" is ok but "David Jones from thisvillage" is not.

Again, this is for your own safety.

No full names! Please never give your surname out online. No rude or offensive names. No flirty names like Hotbabe, or fit_lad! Also no copying of celebrities’ names.
4.Keep to the subject
The Message Tree and Writer’s Blog are aimed at children taking part in the Big Wild Read summer reading challenge. Messages should be about books you are reading, or things you are doing as part of the challenge. If you bring in other subjects or just use it to send a message to your friends, you’re unlikely to get it published.
5. No nasty, rude, offensive or argumentative messages
A good discussion is welcome but nasty or mean messages will not be accepted.
6. No websites to be mentioned
We can’t allow outside websites to be mentioned as we cannot guarantee their suitability or safety.
7. No coded or foreign languages
Everyone must be able to easily understand your message. We can't allow messages which are written in code or a language which isn’t English.
You must stick to these rules. Every message is read and checked by moderators to make sure it is suitable. If you break any of the rules, then your message won’t be shown.
